In Ethiopia, I'll be helping at the Mercy Ministry Happy Children Home in Addis Ababa. I'll be teaching children English and math (yeah, I know); organizing learning and recreational activities; and tutoring. For most of the children, whose home is the street, this is the only formal education they'll receive.
Twice a week, I'll help at Mercy Ministry's feeding center providing a meal for the homeless.
The diversity of Global Volunteer Networks' Ethiopia Program and the privilege of being able to help both children and adults appeals to me; many programs I looked at were singularly focused, which is fine but for those who know me well, you know that I don't know what to do with myself if I don't have several balls in the air!
